The dealership reopened Jan. 8 at its new location after owner Robert Bates purchased the five-acre property from The Other Guys Auto Sales. A spring grand opening is planned, with details to be announced through the dealership’s website and social media channels.

General Manager Shane Smith told The Observer the transaction followed several months of discussions after the property became available and was finalized in December. The new location is roughly twice the size of Legacy’s former leased facility on Walton Road and provides increased visibility and expanded space for inventory and service operations.

“There are multiple buildings on the property, including a detail shop we acquired with the sale,” Smith said in the report. He added that the existing detail operation will remain in place under the same technician.

The dealership plans additional improvements, including a covered outdoor showroom and an expansion of its approximately 4,800-square-foot main service shop. Recent upgrades include new fencing and a security gate at the front of the property.

Legacy Power Sports & RV currently displays about 70 RV units on the lot, including models from Northwood Manufacturing and Keystone RV, along with a mix of new and pre-owned motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campers and toy haulers. The powersports lineup includes Suzuki motorcycles, ATVs, electric side-by-sides, specialized mountain bikes, and newly added CFMOTO products.

According to Smith, the relocation follows a period of steady expansion. Legacy acquired AC Power Sports in 2020 and Thunder RV in late 2022, creating the current Legacy Power Sports & RV operation. The Walton Road site was intended as a temporary location until a permanent property could be secured.
