Polaris unveils 400-horsepower RZR Pro R Factory Boost race machine
Polaris and RZR Factory Racing have unveiled the all-new RZR Pro R Factory Boost, a 400-horsepower race machine developed for open desert competition.

Introduced Oct. 31 at the company’s annual Camp RZR event at Glamis Imperial Sand Dunes in California, the new model builds on the recently introduced production RZR Pro R Boost platform while incorporating race components and engineering lessons from the Gen 2 RZR Pro R Factory.
The RZR Pro R Factory Boost joins the existing RZR Pro R Factory in Polaris’ race machine lineup rather than replacing it, giving racers two purpose-built platforms with different performance capabilities.
“The Gen 2 RZR Pro R Factory has proven itself as the benchmark in the side-by-side category and demonstrated our ability to compete among the best, beating all other UTVs in virtually every major offroad race in the world,” said Alex Scheuerell, Polaris’ director of off-road motorsports in a news release. “With the RZR Pro R Factory Boost, we’re building on that success with a clear goal: to keep pushing the boundaries of performance and give our team and customers every advantage to continue winning at the highest level.”
The new machine is powered by a race-tuned, turbocharged ProStar Fury 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing up to 400 horsepower. Polaris engineers also made substantial changes to the chassis, suspension, cooling and fuel systems to address the demands of high-speed desert racing.
The reinforced chassis features a wheelbase extended by 6.5 inches to 111 inches, along with larger tubing across key structural members for increased strength and stiffness. The redesigned cage and cockpit add two inches of cab width to provide more driver space and legroom.
Polaris also incorporated full carbon fiber bodywork and an arched roofline designed to reduce weight and improve aerodynamic efficiency. Engineers used computational fluid dynamics modeling to evaluate airflow at speeds exceeding 100 mph, helping shape the cage and redesigned rear body profile.

Other race-focused upgrades include a 45-gallon fuel cell, up from the previous-generation model’s 34-gallon capacity, providing a range of more than 200 miles. The electronics package features an upgraded MoTeC M150 engine control unit and dual power distribution modules.
Suspension upgrades include three-inch internal bypass DYNAMIX DV Live Valve shocks with race-specific components and upgraded one-inch shock shafts. A standard FOX steering damper is designed to improve steering control and driver confidence over rough terrain at high speeds.
“Desert racing demands strength, speed and durability across hundreds of miles, and we’ve engineered this platform to take on the next level of competition,” Scheuerell said. “We’re ready to put it to the test and push for results that reflect the ambition of our team.”
The RZR Pro R Factory Boost is available to order in limited quantities through SCI Distribution LLC, Polaris’ exclusive distributor for the race machine. The first order window closes Feb. 15, 2027.

The starting U.S. MSRP is $200,000. Polaris will handle production, while SCI Distribution will manage sales and post-sale customer support. The RZR Factory Racing team plans to debut the new machine at the 2027 King of the Hammers event and compete in multiple races.
