Zongshen Adopts Avaya Communications

China’s Chongqing Zongshen Motorcycle Group has implemented a new communications system designed to enable faster and more effective interaction and improved collaboration among employees at the company’s 49 branches across the country.
A leading player in China’s motorcycle industry, and partner to a number of other powersports companies, Zongshen has branches in most provinces of China, as well as in foreign countries such as the United States, France, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea and Cambodia. The group has over 18,000 employees.
The Avaya Internet Protocol (IP) Office Telephony solution for small and medium businesses connects Zongshen’s headquarters to all of its branches, offering Zongshen employees IP telephony functions such as Fax over IP technology, whereby internal daily working reports can be exchanged via fax, and a conferencing bridge, offering a manager the ability to quickly organize meetings attended by staffs from different offices.
Avaya, Inc. officials say the company designs, builds, and manages communications networks for more than one million businesses worldwide, including over 90 percent of the FORTUNE 500.
Zongshen said it was looking for a cost effective solution to facilitate internal communications. An Avaya representative said burgeoning business in China has brought internal company communications to the forefront.
“Businesses in China are keen to adopt IP communications technologies to enhance efficiency and get access to rich communications,” said William Hua, China country manager, Small and Medium Business Group, Avaya. “They want to do this in a cost effective way with protection of existing investment. IP Office, a feature rich and all-in-one solution which is easy to install and run, is exactly a system to meet such requirements. It enables customers to migrate to IP telephony at their own pace and choice.”
