BMW Motorrad sees 31.1 percent July sales increase

BMW Motorrad USA experienced a boon in July, as motorcycle sales jumped to 1,346 units, an increase of 31.1 percent over July 2012.

Again leading the charge for sales was the R 1200 GSW, with 201 models sold in the month. In total, the R-Series reported a 47 percent increase with sales of 506 units. The K-Series experienced 27 percent growth, driven by sales of the K 1600 GT, which increased 37 percent, and the K 1600 GTL, which was up 34 percent. Customers reacted positively to the F 800 GT and the F 800 GS, bringing the F-Series sales up 126 percent year-over-year with 319 units sold. Demand for the GT maxi-scooter is surpassing supply, BMW reported.
