Souhegan Valley Motorsports owner joins New Hampshire community college board
Barbara Mullin, co-owner of Souhegan Valley Motorsports in Milford, New Hampshire, has joined The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges board of directors, adding another industry voice to an organization focused on expanding educational opportunities and workforce development.

The news was spotlighted by Dave McMahon, founder of Powersports Dealer Showcase (PDS), in a recent post on his blog. McMahon noted that Mullin and her husband, George, have owned and operated Souhegan Valley Motorsports for the past 20 years.
The Mullins have been particularly active in supporting students interested in careers in the powersports industry. In 2022, they established the Scott M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Manchester Community College (MCC) in memory of their son Scott, a longtime motorcycle enthusiast and racer.

The scholarship provides need-based financial assistance to students enrolled in MCC’s Powersports program who are pursuing careers in the industry.
In 2025, the Mullins expanded the scholarship fund to provide need-based assistance to graduates of public high schools in New Hampshire’s Souhegan Valley who enroll at Nashua Community College, Manchester Community College or NHTI – Concord’s Community College.
“Barbara is a welcome addition to The Foundation’s board of directors,” says Tim Allison, executive director of The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges. “Her generosity as a donor and advocate for accessible education has opened doors for students — especially those pursuing a career in the powersports industry, carrying forward her son Scott’s legacy and his desire to help others.”
The Foundation supports New Hampshire’s seven community colleges through scholarships, program development and facility enhancements. Its efforts include developing partnerships and raising funds to prepare students for skilled jobs and address workforce needs across the state.
Mullin brings a background outside of powersports to her new board role. She earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of New Hampshire and conducted postgraduate research in environmental virology before joining Corning Incorporated’s Life Sciences Division.
The Mullin family’s involvement with community education illustrates another way dealership owners can contribute to the industry’s future — by helping develop the next generation of technicians and other powersports professionals.
