Yamaha unveils 2020 Sport Heritage lineup

Yamaha has announced the completion of the 2020 model lineup with the introduction of the popular XSR700 twin and XSR900 triple, which join the powerful VMAX cruiser, Bolt and Bolt R-Spec urban performance bobbers, and entry-level V Star 250 models that were introduced in September.

The Faster Sons Design Philosophy

Yamaha’s Sport Heritage motorcycle models draw inspiration from in-depth experience spanning seven decades of designing and manufacturing famous and iconic motorcycles. During this time, the world of motorcycling has continually evolved, yet the unique emotions and intense excitement experienced when riding on two wheels have always stayed the same. The Faster Sons design philosophy fuses iconic style with modern technology to create enjoyable and exciting motorcycles that recall the past while featuring the performance of today.

XSR700 – Born Tomorrow

2020 XSR700

With modern classic styling and a crossplane concept 689cc inline twin-cylinder engine for exciting performance, the XSR700 draws influence from Yamaha’s classic “XS” series of vintage motorcycles. Exposed aluminum details, retro-influenced bodywork, a stepped seat, and a classically-styled headlight and taillight contribute to the iconic look of yesterday, while features like efficient fuel injection, a sporty chassis with modern suspension, powerful braking with ABS, 10-spoke cast-aluminum wheels, and LCD instrumentation offer the performance expectations of today.

The 2020 XSR700 will be available in a new Radical White/Rapid Red paint scheme for an MSRP of $8,499. Authorized Yamaha dealers will begin receiving bikes in February.

XSR900 – Born to Rule

2020 XSR900

Powered by a thrilling crossplane crankshaft concept 847cc inline triple-cylinder engine, the XSR900 is an authentic performance motorcycle that blends Yamaha’s world-class engineering with standout neo‑retro style. Every aspect of the XSR900 shows Yamaha’s attention to detail. The single-piece stepped seat features a stitched “XSR900” logo, the mirrors have a classic teardrop shape and excellent rearward visibility, the compact radiator is flanked by exposed aluminum covers, and the headlight and front fender exhibit retro-influenced aluminum stays.

Performance is no problem thanks to a narrow aluminum frame designed to achieve light and nimble handling, adjustable suspension front and rear, powerful braking with ABS, an assist-and-slipper clutch, and electronic rider aids that include traction control and D-MODE selectable throttle response.

Available in the new Radical White/Rapid Red paint scheme, the 2020 XSR900 will begin arriving at dealerships in November for an MSRP of $9,499.
