New motorcycle show to be launched in 2013

Marketplace Events, a company that produces home shows in 21 major markets, announced this week that it intends to launch the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIME) in the fall of 2013.

The show, designed to coincide with annual unveilings of new motorcycles, aftermarket products, safety equipment and accessories, is being developed as a business-to-business and business-to-consumer expo. AIME’s goal is to bring the entire two-wheel industry together at one show.

The announcement was delivered from Long Beach, Calif., by Marketplace Events CEO Tom Baugh and Larry Little, the company’s vice president and general manager of the motorcycle group. It was announced last week that Little, the chairman of the Motorcycle Industry Council, had joined Marketplace Events. Little spent more than 25 years as vice president and publisher of Cycle World, and he holds a Charter Life Membership with the American Motorcyclist Association.

No dates or location for AIME have been announced.
