Harley cancels open house events

Harley-Davidson’s Kansas City plant will not hold its annual open house in September this year, according to a report in the Kansas City Star.

In previous years, Harley has combined a weekend open house with a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The company said an expanded commitment of resources to other activities will preclude an open house this year.

Harley remains a national sponsor of MDA and will sell raffle tickets to give away a 2010 Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle made at the Kansas City plant.

The York Daily Record in York, Pa., reports that Harley will also not host the annual York Open House because of restructuring currently going on.
