Select Best Buy stores will sell electric motorcycles, report says

Electronics retailer Best Buy will dabble in the electric motorcycle market, according to an online report.

Best Buy will sell $12,000 electric motorcycles at five of its West Coast stores, according to a report in Greentech Media.

The motorcycles, called Enertia, are manufactured by Brammo, an Ashland, Ore.-based company.

The Enertia, which uses a lithium-ion-phosphate battery, has a 45-mile range and a maximum speed of 53 miles per hour, according to the report. The article also says Best Buy’s Geek Squad employees would perform “level one” repairs on the bikes, including repairs on brakes, tires and electronic components.
