Industry new unit sales dip slightly in ‘06
According to figures the Motorcycle Industry Council released Monday, new unit sales for the industry fell slightly in 2006, down 1.1 percent from the previous year.
MIC members sold 20,118 fewer units than in 2005, from 1,790,021 to 1,769,903.
Units with decreased sales included ATVs (down 4.2 percent), off-highway motorcycles (down 9 percent) and scooters (down 4.6 percent).
Units with increased sales included dual (up 19 percent) and on-highway motorcycles (up 5.4 percent).
