Report: Former Suzuki analyst charged with lying about motorcycle emissions

A Detroit federal court filing on June 2 stated that a former Suzuki Motor Corp. government relations analyst has been accused of lying about motorcycle emissions figures in filings with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), reported by MLive Media Group.

Wayne Powell has been charged “with violating the Clean Air Act in a felony that involved altering production numbers on a series of 2012 motorcycles.”

According to the report, Powell allegedly attempted to pass Suzuki class III engines as meeting emissions standards, even when they exceeded the federal limit, based on the number of domestic sales.
