The Wisconsin Department of Tourism has awarded the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee a green rating, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The Travel Green Wisconsin certification includes nine areas of evaluation: communication and education; waste reduction, reuse and recycling; energy efficiency, conservation and management; water conservation and wastewater management; air quality; wildlife and landscape conservation and management; transportation; purchasing; and local community benefits.
Some of the initiatives the museum was given credit for were cleaning, using high velocity hand dryers instead of paper towels, low-flow bathroom fixtures and buying local food, according to the Associated Press.
