Amerivespa Cleveland, June 2-5
The Vespa Club of America’s 13th annual Amerivespa event is scheduled to take place June 2-5 in Cleveland, Ohio. A national gathering of enthusiasts of vintage and modern European motor scooters, most notably the Vespa, Amerivespa attracts scooter fans from all over the world.
Each year Amerivespa moves to a different part of the U.S. This is the first year Amerivespa will be held in the Midwest.
“The club chose Cleveland because of the city’s strong scooter community, central location, history and scenery,” said J.D. Merryweather, Vespa Club of America president.
Scheduled activities include large group rides through Cleveland and the surrounding area; a “Concours d’Elegance” scooter show from 4pm to 6pm on June 4; a gala dinner and awards ceremony; tech sessions; and scooter sports such as a slow race and obstacle course. Registered attendees also will have the opportunity to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a reduced admission price.
Scooterists from around Ohio and the Midwest are contributing to Amerivespa. Piaggio USA, the U.S. national distributor of Vespa and Piaggio brands, also is playing a major role in the event, including the donation of three new Vespa to be raffled off to participants.
