This summer’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally could attract as many as a million people to the tiny South Dakota town for the 75 anniversary of the rally. If 853,000 or more people show up, the figure will top the entire state’s population. With the huge crowds in mind, an Orange County event organizer will develop Sturgis City Park as an entertainment venue and a giant parking lot.

Buffalo Chip Campground revs up for 75th Annual Sturgis Rally
Up to one million bikers could flock to the Black Hills for the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August. Tourists from across the country will come to the rally and some are already here. and make fools of themselves.” This is their second time at the rally and they kicked off today with a relaxing afternoon at CrossRoads Bar at the Buffalo Chip Campground.
Hotels expect full occupancy for Sturgis Rally
Hundreds of hotels will also be at full capacity during the Sturgis Rally. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Sturgis sees a 90 percent increase in revenue and occupancy during the summer season. They say they’ve been preparing for the 75th anniversary for a couple of years now. So we are really counting on this year to be huge.
