BMW Motorcycle revenues grow 11.2% in Q2

BMW Motorrad reported its worldwide revenues in its Motorcycles segment were up 11.2 percent in the second quarter to € 528 million.

Motorcycles EBIT for the quarter ending June 30 rose 19.6 percent to € 55 million, and profit before tax was up 20.0 percent to € 54 million. Q2 motorcycle sales increased 5.1 percent to a new second-quarter record of 42,259 units.

BMW Motorrad also saw a record first-half with sales volume increasing 9.3 percent to 70,978 units. Revenues were up 9.8 percent to € 1.0 billion; EBIT rose 22.7 percent to € 119 million, and profit before tax grew 23.2 percent to € 117 million.

Overall, BMW Group saw revenues up 1.8 percent to € 19.9 billion in the second quarter. EBIT was up 26.0 percent to € 2.6 billion, and Group profit before tax rose 30.9 percent to € 2.6 billion.
