Dealers donate supplies to flood victims
Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and YC Powersports of Osage Beach, Missouri, are working to provide relief for flood victims in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
KOAA News reported that Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson will host a donation drive on Thursday, Aug. 31, “for people wanting to give material goods to victims of the catastrophic flood in Texas.” The drive will begin at 9 a.m. in the dealership’s parking lot at 5867 N. Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs.
Donation drive organizer Kathyrine Hepler told KOAA News, “These people lost everything. If one individual steps up and says, ‘Okay, today this is what I can do,’ then, by God, let’s do that, and let’s do it Thursday here at Harley-Davidson.”
According to Lake News Online, YC Powersports will send two of its drivers with supplies to help those affected by storms. The dealership will also be accepting donations through Sunday, Sept. 3. Items can be dropped off at the dealership, located at 4760 Formula Drive in Osage Beach, Missouri.
The dealership wrote in a Facebook post: “We are trying to get water, soap, toothbrushes, diapers, canned food, dog or cat food for the shelters. Any extra or old phone chargers. … Thank you.”
