Seattle to host 2017 Amerivespa rally

Vespa Club of America (VCOA) announced that Amerivespa 2017 will be held in Seattle, Washington, July 6-9. Jointly hosted by the Vespa Club of Seattle (VCOS), Amerivespa 2017 in Seattle will feature four days of scooter-related fun for enthusiasts as well as the general public.

Amerivespa — open to all scooterists, no matter what you ride — is the largest annual motor scooter rally in the United States and typically attracts 600-800 enthusiasts from all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia. This year signifies the VCOA’s 25th year and Amerivespa’s 21st national rally. With its additional draw as a popular tourist destination, Seattle could conceivably host more than 1,000 attendees. 

Schedule

July 6: Registration, rides and a meet & greet at The Stables (980 S. Nebraska St., Seattle WA 98108)

July 7: Registration, rides and a party featuring live music at China Harbor (2040 Westlake Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98109).

July 8: Rides, gymkhana and auction preview, followed by a banquet at the Don James Center in Husky Stadium (3800 Montlake Blvd. NE, Seattle, WA 98195)

July 9: Brunch, auction, vendor exhibits and raffle

Seattle’s Hotel Deca (4507 Brooklyn Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98105), an Art Deco hotel that opened in the University District in 1931, serves as the host hotel, place of registration and departure site for the daily rides. 

Rides take place around the Seattle metro area and include trips to Snoqualmie Falls, Snohomish, Lake Washington, Georgetown, Bainbridge and other locales.

 The Seattle Vespa Scooter Auction (8507 14th Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98108), which takes place 1pm July 9 following several days of public viewing, includes more than 135 Vespa and Lambretta scooters, motorcycles, mopeds, engines, parts, memorabilia, vintage signage, posters and Vespa dealer promotional banners. Amerivespa is staged annually in different cities throughout the U.S. More than 40 sponsors are involved in 2017.
