Motorcycle Safety Foundation appoints new manager

Longtime Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Coach and quality assurance team member Mark Wing is the new manager of the Discovery Rider Training Center in Long Beach, Calif., according to a press release.

Wing brings a diverse background in motorcycle safety to the training center, with experience as a certified rider coach and training site administrator, plus expertise in improving the delivery of Motorcycle Safety Foundation curricula.

Wing will coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of the training center site, which provides rider courses to the public. In addition, the training center functions as a Rider Education System Laboratory, currently conducting “The Longitudinal Study to Improve Crash Avoidance Skills.” Carried out over three years, the $1.2 million joint project is funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

“We’re confident that Mark will further improve the Discovery Rider Training Center,” said Sherry Williams, director, quality assurance and research at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
