Honda recalls 13,000 off-road motorcycles

American Honda Motor Co. voluntarily recalled about 13,000 off-road motorcycles due to the weld on the right side of the swing arm can fail, causing the rider to potentially lose control and crash, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall affects involves model year 2007-2008 Honda CRF150R/RB motocross competition motorcycles. The vehicles were sold from Sept. 2006-Oct. 2008 for between $4,300-$4,400.

According to the release, Honda has received two reports of swing arms cracking, but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled off-road motorcycles and contact any Honda dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners of the recalled motorcycles are being sent a direct notice.
