Report: Eicher Polaris makes changes with Multix joint venture

Polaris has upgraded its plans to increase visibility and expand its footprint in its joint venture with Eicher Motors on the personal Multix vehicle, according to an article in The Economic Times.

“The board members at both Eicher and Polaris are surprised at the business results from the JV so far. The concept holds a great potential — while the business has not got off to the start expected, we have re-looked at our international expectations,” Pankaj Dubey, CEO of Eicher Polaris, commented in an interview. Dubey recently given increased responsibility at Eicher Polaris to put it back on track. He also leads the ATV and Indian Motorcycle business in India. 

Eicher Polaris has upgraded the Multix vehicle with more power and plans to increase visibility by more than doubling its network of dealers to 150 within the next six months. 

Reportedly the company is also “exploring the possibility of assembling its ATV at the JV’s Jaipur facility for a quicker breakeven”.
