Worldwide leaders in China for APEC escorted by CFMOTO motorcycles

News release

This year’s APEC meeting held in Beijing, China between Nov. 5-11 witnessed the resumption of top protocol arrangement of motorcycle escorts for the visiting leaders from 21 APEC member countries. The protocol had been conducted since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, but stopped on January 1, 2004.

The eye-poppers of the motorcades of the visiting leaders are the escort motorcycles manufactured by a Chinese company, Zhejiang CFMOTO Power Co., Ltd. (CFMOTO). The CFMOTO 650CC twin-cylinder CF650G motorcycle was selected as the designated escort motorcycle for the visiting leaders, a top protocol arrangement and a security measure for a foreign head of state or head of government, according to a press release from Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The CFMOTO CF650G, standing out from more than 200 Chinese motorcycle companies, features a front face design that stems from the guardian lions statue in Tiananmen Square, the symbol of solemnity and power. The vehicle body is mainly white, decorated with graphics of traditional Chinese colors of red and yellow, representing the Five-Starred Red Flag and the magnificent Great Wall.

The development of the CF650G took only 10 months which had been a real challenge to the CFMOTO team. The motorcycle features a liquid-cooled parallel twin cylinder EFI 650CC engine with top speed of 177KM/h, ABS system which is the first of this kind on a pure Chinese big CC motorcycle, and electronically controlled adjustable windshield. The fully equipped audio and video communication system on the vehicle ensures the real time connections between the motorcade and the control center.

In the past, Honda and BMW motorcycles had been used for escort purpose.
