The 2027 FreeRide E is now street-legal, bringing it into the dual-sport category, while retaining the benefits of the latest technology in an electric motorcycle: low emissions and maintenance, and handlebar brake set-up, now on a street-legal trim

For 2027, KTM has squeezed the peak power to 19.2 kW from the waterproof and dustproof motor that produces 37 Nm of torque, and reaches a top speed of 59 mph. The output can be administered through three ride modes and three energy recuperation settings that help extend the range. The electronic package features a rollover sensor and adjustable traction control.

The new FreeRide E is lighter than previous models, weighing 246.9 lb. A chrome-molybdenum steel frame surrounds the engine package and battery architecture, and the subframe is made from aluminum and glass-fiber reinforced nylon. The seat height has also been raised to 35.8 inches.

Battery capacity increases slightly compared to the previous model. Riders can count on a 5.5 kWh battery that can last over 1,000 charging cycles before lowering effectiveness. Riders can also expect two to three hours of enduro riding time when the 5.5 kWh battery is fully charged.

It also retains its latest-generation WP XACT suspension, Braketec hardware, and Michelin Enduro Medium tires.

The 2027 KTM FreeRide E will be available through authorized KTM dealers by the summer of 2026. For more information, visit ktm.com
