RV market gets millennial boost

Millennials are getting involved in the RV market, according to the New York Post. The influx of millennial RV buyers has the industry expecting U.S. sales in 2016 to increase 5.9 percent from last year, the first increase since 2012.

The article mentions that popular past times such as “glamping” — camping in glamorous fashion — have led to increased RV sales in the under 35-year-old category.

Perhaps the powersports industry can take some pointers from RV’s resurgence with millennials. One RV dealer mentioned that pre-owned RVs around $15,000 are selling the most, with the possibility of add-on customized extras. Powersports dealers who are looking to gain more millennial involvement in sales may find that customization and pre-owned, financially-accessible units are the place to start.
