Dealer fights against Missouri’s Blue Law
For 36 years, Worth Harley-Davidson in Kansas City, Mo., has been open seven days a week, despite not being able to sell motorcycles on Sundays. Now Rick Worth is joining lawmakers in the fight to allow Sunday motorcycle sales in Platte and Jackson counties.
Worth told KCTV in Kansas City that his biggest competitor is located about 35 miles away in Kansas, where Sunday motorcycle sales are legal. Worth planned to testify in Jefferson City, Mo., this week in support of a Blue Law exemption for motorcycles. If Worth could sell motorcycles on Sunday, he says he could increase sales by about $7 million and add about 20 jobs.
