Kawasaki to reenter Chinese motorcycle market
Kawasaki has announced plans to bring midsized and large motorcycles into China for the first time in 15 years, according to reports.
Sales of bikes, such as the Ninja ZX-14R, Ninja 650, Ninja 250, Z250 and other models, will begin Aug. 18, The Asahi Shimbun reported. The first shipment of bikes will be sent to Kawasaki’s local unit in Shanghai, with expansion planned for Beijing, Chengdu and other large cities. MENAFN.com, citing Chinese-language www.people.com.cn, reported that Kawasaki will sell its bikes through enterprises registered in China. The company plans to reach annual sales of 5,000 bikes within five years, according to The Asahi Shimbun.
