Kawasaki reaches a production milestone

LINCOLN, Neb. — A UTV in an appropriate color — Kawasaki green — rolled off the manufacturer’s Lincoln, Neb., assembly line Wednesday, becoming No. 3 million to do so.

The company and more than 1,500 of its employees gathered for the moment, 35-plus years in the making.

“During these 36 years, we have expanded, responded to market demand and changed our production models,” Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. U.S.A. President Matsuhiro Asano told the gathered audience.

The milestone vehicle, a 750 Teryx 4×4 Sport, is a reflection of the manufacturer’s current production, which has changed in terms of model makeup from predominantly ATV to a higher number of UTVs.

“Even in this hard situation, we have achieved the 3 millionth production vehicle today,” Asano said. “This is a mere milestone for KMM’s continued growth.”
