More than 300 miles of trails re-opened

More than 300 miles of designated trails on the Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio re-opened to the public April 15 for the 2010 trail season.

The Forest has about 120 miles of ATV and off-road motorcycle trails. Last year, the Forest sold 16,000 trail permits to recreation enthusiasts, reported Wayne National Forest.

All motorized trail riders must have a valid state driver’s license, register their ATVs and off-road motorcycles at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and purchase a Wayne National Forest trail permit.

The 2010 trail season will remain open until Dec. 15.
