Kawasaki reports reduced North American motorcycle sales

Despite decreased North American motorcycle sales, Kawasaki Heavy Industries is reporting increased overall sales.

The Japanese manufacturer reported an overall 8.3 percent increase in revenue in its fiscal year’s first six months, which ended Sept. 30.

However, Kawasaki did note its North American motorcycle sales dropped while its bike sales increased in Europe. The company did not provide specific sales numbers for its North American market.

Overall, the company’s segment that includes powersports vehicles had revenue of $1.8 billion, a nearly 12 percent increase compared to the year-ago period.

Kawasaki’s overall North American sales decreased 1.2 percent compared to the year-ago period while its sales in Europe and Asia grew.
