Power 50 dealer expands showroom
2016 Power 50 dealer Maddie’s Motor Sports in Dansville, New York, has more than tripled its showroom space after adding an expansion on to the store.
“We added 8,000 square feet, primarily all showroom. We did add some office space as well and a service bay that includes prep and detailing for sold units, but out of the 8,000 square feet, about 7,000 is all toward showroom, which holds Indian, used product and Polaris off-road,” owner Graham Marcus told Powersports Business. “We redid our existing showroom to hold our BRP product line and KTM.”
Before adding on, Maddie’s showroom was only 1,900 square feet. After bringing on Indian, under Mad Max Indian Motorcycle, in the spring of 2016, Marcus realized the dealership needed more space, so construction began on the 8,000-square-foot expansion.
The new space allows each OEM to have 800-2,500 square feet of space year-round. Previously, Maddie’s had to switch out product seasonally.
The new space, which opened in early May, also includes the Polaris Retail Experience display, and the old Victory area is being used to house more pre-owned vehicles than Maddie’s could previously display.
Customers have been impressed with the change, Marcus said. “They come in, and their jaws just drop at how the finished product looks like.”
In addition to the extra indoor space, Maddie’s also added a gravel area outdoors that holds about 100 ATVs and side-by-sides.
