Fort Myers, Fla.-based Universal Trailer Corporation (UTC) has named Jeff Howes vice president of marketing.
Howes brings an extensive marketing background, with more than 20 years of experience in product, brand and channel marketing. He most recently served as vice president/general manager for the Water Initiative and spent 10 years at Newell Rubbermaid as director of marketing for their Tools Business Segment.
“Jeff brings a high level of experience and talent to the UTC marketing team,” Universal Trailer CEO Terry Carlson said. “The wide scope of his skills will help drive new marketing initiatives and further advance product development within each of UTC’s brands.”
Recent UTC product development launches have included the new aluminum Haulmark ALX trailer series, Wells Cargo SilverSport aluminum trailers, the Featherlite Liberty living quarters, the Haulmark Motorcoach STATUS Luxury Coach and the new Exiss living quarters trailers.
In 2015, construction started on a new, 200,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Bristol, Ind. This new plant will feature advanced manufacturing techniques not currently used in the cargo trailer industry and will further fuel product innovation.
