The best way to start a lead management program is to decide where you would like to end up. How well you can answer questions like, "What do I hope to accomplish?" or "What are my goals for the program?" will determine how effective your lead management program will be, according to Jeanne Hopkins of HubSpot.com
After setting goals, Hopkins says that marketers should set aside the time to take inventory of the assets you have at your disposal. What editorial skills or content do you have? What technical or creative content do you have?
Taking stock of the inventory that you have will require more than just index cards and sticky notes, Hopkins says. There are tools available for marketers that help manage all of the pieces of generating and managing leads.
