Levatich honored with Earth Day award
Just days before taking the helm as the CEO of Harley-Davidson, Matt Levatich was honored with an Earth Day leadership award from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Levatich received the award Wednesday in Wauwatosa, Wis., for his efforts to have H-D product designers and factories look into “environmental profit and loss statements.” The development of the Project LiveWire electric motorcycle was just one result of the push.
Thirty-eight nominations were submitted for the Earth Day award, with the only recipients being Levatich and Will Allen, founder of Growing Power, a national nonprofit that provides equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food for people in all communities.
