Honda recalls 15,400 UTVs
American Honda has issued a recall on 15,400 two- and four-seat 2014 Pioneer 700s.
On the affected units, vegetation and debris can accumulate on the middle skid plate. From there, the debris can make contact with the exhaust system, which could cause the debris to ignite, resulting in smoke or fire. Honda has received 10 reports of debris on the skid plate causing fires; no injuries have been reported.
The models affected include:
Model Number Serial Number Range (All begin with 1HF) Number of Seats
SXS 700M2 2AC VE0225E4000006 to VE022XE4006304 2
SXS 700M2 4AC VE0284E4000003 to VE0284E4001202 2

SXS 700M4 3AC VE0268E4000004 to VE0269E4001503 4
Owners of those vehicles are being asked to immediately stop using them and bring them into a dealership, where the original middle skid plate will be replaced with an updated middle skid plate.
