AMA adds King’s Cup and Golden Cup races to 2025 Vintage Motorcycle Days schedule
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that two new vintage motocross races — the King’s Cup and Golden Cup — will be added to the 2025 Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Turn 14 Distribution. The event will take place July 25–27 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

Both races will be single-moto events and open to riders classified as Expert or Intermediate. Each race will include two divisions based on rider age: under 40 and over 40.
The King’s Cup race, scheduled for Sunday, July 27, will feature air-cooled, two-stroke 500cc motorcycles from the 1970s and 1980s, similar to the bikes raced during the peak years of the AMA 500cc National and World Championships.
The Golden Cup race, taking place Saturday, July 26, will showcase air-cooled, non-linkage, drum-brake 125cc two-stroke machines from the late 1970s, reflecting the early days of AMA 125cc National Championship racing.
“These displacement classes and those years were very special. It’s going to be exciting to watch things unfold on the track.” — AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Broc Glover
AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days will also include motocross racing, stunt shows, vendor displays, and North America’s largest motorcycle swap meet.
