ATV boom ‘reshaping’ Minnesota’s outdoors: report

As a result of increased consumer interest throughout 2020, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar ATV trail building boom to accommodate the thousands of new off-road machines sold to Minnesotans, according to reporting from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune.

According to the article, “to intensify its ATV trail planning, including building two $1 million bridges, the DNR asked the Legislature this year for $250,000… In the past 20 years, ATV registrations in Minnesota have grown 143% to 324,000 machines.”

Powersports Business previously reported in a digital edition about one dealership’s effort to create its own off-road vehicle (ORV) park to increase trail access opportunities for its customers.
