Deere, Polaris earn incentives for expansion in Iowa

Deere & Co. and Polaris Industries have each received tax credits to expand their Iowa facilities.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board awarded Deere more than $1.3 million in tax credits toward the addition of two buildings and more equipment at its testing center in Cedar Falls, The Des Moines Register reported. Deere must accommodate for 29 jobs that each pay $18.84 per hour to receive the credits.

Polaris was awarded a $300,000 forgivable loan and $706,000 in tax credits for its planned Sportsman ACE assembly line addition at its Milford plant. According to the agreement, Polaris is required to pay 45 of its projected 150 new employees at least $15.21 per hour to receive its incentives.
