BRP design guru Lapointe to speak at creativity, commerce conference

News release

BRP’s Denys Lapointe, senior vice-president, Design and Innovation, will be in Montréal to share his vision of the creative process behind powersports vehicles with hundreds of entrepreneurs, decision-makers and designers at C2MTL.

“Denys has the creative gene that defines BRP,” said Chris Dawson, vice-president and general manager, Global Sales and Consumer Experience. “He contributed directly in numerous innovations during his career, including the redesign of the Ski-Doo snowmobile in 2003 that featured a more ergonomic riding position, the creation of a brand-new on-road vehicle with the Can-Am Spyder in 2007, the introduction of the Sea-Doo personal watercraft in 1988 and the rejuvenation of that industry in 2013. Denys will try to stimulate creativity at C2MTL, like he does every day in the BRP design studio.”

“I agreed to speak at C2MTL so I could share my knowledge and my team’s know-how with other industry professionals. The event is an ideal opportunity to showcase our industrial design to the world,” said Lapointe.

BRP is launching a contest on Twitter today in connection with the event. One of BRP’s Twitter followers will win entry to the May 28 conference. To be eligible, just follow BRP on Twitter @BRPnews and ask Denys Lapointe a question about design, innovation or the creative process at BRP. The winner* will be announced on May 26 and will receive a pair of tickets to this very special meeting with an undisputed leader in Quebec design.

BRP’s involvement in C2MTL highlights the company’s international status and its reputation for creativity and innovation. Over the years, BRP’s design group has garnered numerous international design awards, including the German Red Dot Design Award, the US Good Design Award and the Australian International Design Award (AIDA). In fact, BRP has been designing the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada trophies since 2011.
