First Gear’s new Kilimanjaro jacket now lighter

First Gear’s new Kilimanjaro jacket for men and women is now all-textile in construction has reduced the weight of the original jacket by one-third.

A Hypertex 400-denier outer shell allows for waterproofing and breathability. Shoulder and elbows are reinforced with 640-denier nylon. MSRP is $299.95.

“It’s what customers want,” brand manager Mark Salvatore said. “We got rid of the boxiness and articulated the arms, and we added a big droptail, all while reducing the weight.”
