Carter Bros. facility destroyed by fire
An early morning fire swept through the U.S. manufacturing facilities of Carter Bros. and destroyed the 160,000 square foot plant.
The fire, which is believed to have struck early Monday morning, decimated the facility, according to an online report from the Troy Messenger.
Carter Bros. CEO Jonathan Arn told the Troy Messenger that the company had closed its joint venture in China and was in the process of moving all manufacturing operations back to its Brundidge, Ala., facility.
Officials were examining the cause of the fire.
Carter Bros. is a provider of a number of powersports vehicles, including go-karts, ATVs and side-by-sides, and has distributed SYM scooters in the United States.
