Arctic Cat Recalls Sleds

Arctic Cat, Inc. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have issued a recall involving certain 2004 Firecat and Sabercat snowmobiles.
Arctic Cat says the red plastic skis on 5,193 units could crack or break as a result of off-season exposure to ultraviolet sunlight. The Firecats and Sabercats were sold at Arctic Cat dealerships worldwide from June 2003 through September 2004 for between $5,500 and $8,500. The recalled red plastic skis, made in Madison, S.D., are part number 1703-500.
Arctic Cat says consumers have been notified by mail and asked to visit an Arctic Cat dealer for a free repair. No incidents or injuries involving the defective skis have been reported.
