BRP recalls 12,500 youth ATVs

BRP has recalled about 12,500 youth ATVs because the units fail to meet the federal ATV standards for maximum unrestricted speed and parking brakes. Not meeting those standards poses a crash hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice.

The recall affects 70 and 90cc 2008-15 Can-Am Mini DS ATVs. The 2008-14 DS 70 ATVs fail to meet the unrestricted speed standard, while the 2008-15 DS 70 and DS 90 units fail to meet the parking brake requirement. No injuries or incidents have been reported pertaining to the recall.

BRP is notifying customers of the affected units about the recall. Dealers will be providing free repairs.
