Romania: Hunt the Wolf off-road race to draw 10 nations
The 8th annual CFMOTO Hunt the Wolf race will be held through May 3 in Dracula’s heartland, Transylvania, Romania. It’s known as the most challenging ATV and side-by-side race in Europe, and is open to all brands. Kenda and Motul are among the sponsors of the five-day event.
Racers from more than 10 countries will be competing for the CFMOTO vehicles that will be awarded from Romanian distributor Authentic Spirit. The Extreme class winner receives a CFMOTO CFORCE 800. The Extreme class ATV race is considered the toughest challenge, with the Adventure and Crossover divisions also offered. Adventure riders will take a track through the mountains, and Extreme and Crossover riders will follow a GPS-mapped trail. All tracks are made by South Tyrolean race director Oliver Renzler, a successful ATV racer.
For 2014, the race event offers some firsts: a mandatory test round to determine whether a driver may or may not start in Extreme, and a mass-start on all days. The event also has been extended by a day and a half, with each rider eliminating their worst daily time.
The race takes place in the Apuseni Mountains, 1,500 meters above sea. Check out the event site with videos here.
