Segway adds auto-shift to MUXI Pro cargo e-bike
Segway has introduced the MUXI Pro, an updated version of its short-tail utility e-bike, with a new electronic drivetrain, front suspension, turn signals and additional standard equipment.
The MUXI Pro uses a nine-speed electronic drivetrain with automatic shifting, allowing the e-bike to operate as a Class 3 model with pedal-assisted speeds up to 28 mph. A 70mm-travel front suspension fork is also new, along with front and rear fenders and integrated turn signals.
The MUXI Pro retains the low-standover, upright riding position and double-tube frame design of the original MUXI. Segway is offering the model in Anthracite and Reef Blue color options.
Power comes from a 750-watt motor producing 80 Nm of torque. Segway says its Adaptive Assist system and Algorithm 2.0 use sensor inputs to adjust pedal assistance based on riding conditions. Claimed range is up to 73 miles. Additional riding and control features include Hill Descent Control, regenerative braking, Hill-Start Assist and a Traction Control System designed to limit wheelspin on loose or slippery surfaces.
The MUXI Pro also carries over Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, including Apple Find My integration, AirLock proximity locking and unlocking, Lost Mode, over-the-air software updates, a full-color TFT display and automatic headlights. The system can also sync riding and fitness information with the Segway app.
Several accessories are available for the MUXI Pro, including a $119.99 Passenger Kit with a seat, foot pegs and wheel guards. The kit allows the bike to carry a passenger weighing up to 120 pounds. The existing MUXI Middle Basket ($129.99) and Front Basket ($99.99) are also compatible with the Pro.
Other compatible accessories include Segway’s Xiro Automatic Dropper Post ($229.99), Rearview Radar ($99.99) and e-Bike Rearview Mirror ($29.99).
The 2027 Segway MUXI Pro carries a $1,999.99 MSRP and is available in the U.S. through authorized Segway dealers and Segway’s online store.
