Zero launches drop-ship program for X Line electric models
Zero Motorcycles has introduced a new dealer-facilitated direct-to-consumer shipping program designed to streamline delivery of its X Line electric off-road motorcycles while keeping dealers at the center of the transaction.

The program allows authorized U.S. dealers to sell in-crate versions of the XB and XE electric models, which can be shipped directly to a customer’s home from Zero’s central inventory. Customers will complete the final assembly themselves using the company’s official documentation and video instructions.
Faster delivery
Zero says the new program is aimed at aligning the brand with purchasing trends in the growing lightweight electric off-road segment, where buyers increasingly expect faster delivery and online ordering options.

“The X Line opened the door to a new generation of electric off-road riders,” says Garrett Johnson, vice president of sales and CX for North America at Zero Motorcycles. “This program streamlines the purchase process and gives customers a quicker, more flexible way to get on an X Line bike without sacrificing service support from our dealer network.”
Under the program, Johnson says dealers still handle the retail transaction, but motorcycles can be shipped directly to customers through residential freight service.
Dealer efficiencies
Zero said the initiative could also help participating dealers reduce in-store assembly requirements while improving inventory flexibility.

Key elements of the program include:
- Dealer-facilitated retail sales of in-crate XB and XE models
- Residential drop shipment from Zero’s central inventory
- Customer self-assembly supported by official Zero instructions
- One-year vehicle and one-year battery warranty
- Continued dealer service and support
The company said the strategy allows it to maintain its dealer-backed model while adapting to evolving retail expectations.
Expanding e-moto segment
The move comes as the lightweight electric off-road category continues to grow, with several manufacturers targeting new riders looking for simpler ownership and faster purchase experiences.

By enabling residential delivery while keeping dealers involved in the transaction and service process, Zero said the program reinforces the dealership as the primary customer relationship point while improving fulfillment speed.
