BRD Motorcycles launches 2015 RedShift at AIMExpo

We unveiled the production RedShift MX and SM at the AIMExpo on October 16 in Orlando, Florida. We built our first bike in 2011 with a belief that an electric done right could be a better bike than our gas motorcycles. From that first effort, it has taken another 3 years of development, testing, and refinement (and a bit of blood… literally). It has also taken a considerable sum of money (which we just secured) to bring our baby to market. For pretty much all of us, it has been the hardest challenge of our professional lives, but for us what we’ve created makes it worth it. We can’t wait to share the results with you.

Until now, because of the ambiguity around delivery timeline and the inherent risks in betting on a startup, deposits on the RedShift were only $100. We are now confident that not only have we created the bike we intended, but that we also have the means to build and deliver it to you. So on October 16th, the deposit amount will increase to $500. All existing depositors will maintain their place in line — we are not going to let cash trump loyalty — but we wanted to give those of you who have been following us for years but haven’t pulled the trigger one last chance to do so before a spot in line becomes a bit dearer.
