Honda to strengthen motorcycle business
Honda intends to concentrate on improving its motorcycle business with improved technology, according to CMG Online.
Honda CEO Takeo Fukui said motorcycles are “the driving force” behind Honda’s worldwide growth, and demand for motorcycles will increase as more people use them for transportation.
A new motorcycle plant in Kumamoto, Japan will have a key role in expanding the company’s motorcycle business along with improved technologies like fuel injection and motorcycle airbags. Other improvements include ABS brakes in all models 250cc and up by 2011, a new 100cc model for Asia, PGM-FI installed in all Honda motorcycles by the end of 2010 and variable cylinder management and electronically controlled ABS on motorcycles sold in advanced countries.
