Honda recalls ATVs due to steering control loss
In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American Honda Motor Co. recalled about 1,400 ATVs, according to CPSC.
The 2008 Honda TRX500 ATVs were recalled because the electric power steering shaft could break unexpectedly, resulting in loss of steering control. No injuries or incidents have been reported.
The vehicles were sold nationally from October 2007-March 2008 for $6,850-$7,400. They came in red, black, olive, white and camouflage. The Honda and wing logo are printed on the fuel tank, and TRX500 is printed on the side panel just below the seat.
Registered owners of the ATVs were sent direct notices, and they can contact any Honda ATV dealer for a free repair.
