Chinese manufacturers eclipse export records
According to a report by research institute China National Custom, Chinese manufacturers set new export volume records in 2005. The manufacturers exported 7.2 million motorcycles, an 86 percent increase over the previous year, with revenue of $2.2 million U.S., a 57 percent increase.
Manufacturers also exported 1,856,000 engines from the country in 2005.
The institute also reported that 10,401,100 motorcycles were produced in China in the first half of 2006, with total sales volume of $10.2 million U.S.
