Indian manufacturer reports 50 percent increase in sales

Bajaj Auto, the second largest supplier of motorcycles in India, reported 50 percent sales growth in September to 271,377 units over the September 2005 number.

Bajaj said its estimated motorcycle market share reached a new high of nearly 38 percent.

Bajaj also said its total two- and three-wheeler sales for September were at a record 300,141 units, a growth of 38 percent over September 2005.

Bajaj Auto has a partnership with Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
