Yamaha wins two major awards

Yamaha Motor took home two prestigious awards for electric vehicles with the TY-E 2.0 electric trials bike and NEO’S electric scooter (with removable battery). The Red Dot Design Awards, organized by Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, are widely recognized as one of the most prestigious design awards in the world.

The TY-E 2.0 offers some advantages over traditional IC engines with powerful low-speed torque and acceleration. The TY-E 2.0 also has the potential to make trials more accessible as an indoor motorsport. The exterior design was inspired by the static and dynamic movements often seen in trials, such as suddenly scaling up a tall rock face from a standstill.

NEO’S electric scooter

With a removable battery, this electric scooter features a simple, stylish body and smooth ride only an electric scooter can provide. In Europe, this model is aimed at meeting the market needs of a new segment of customers switching from commuting by car to by motorcycle or scooter due to insufficient parking, traffic jams, and changes in urban traffic regulations and the needs of customers riding conventional 50cc scooters that are looking to shift to electrics.
